Bio

Theodoulos Polyviou (b. 1989, Nicosia, Cyprus) is a Berlin-based artist working with time-based and expanded media. His practice explores ritual, sacrality and embodied experience, speculating on an esoteric-queer identity within the complex historical entanglements of his homeland. Through site-specific video and virtual-reality installations, sculpture, and archival objects, Polyviou engages immersive technologies as ceremonial tools to bridge the visible and the transmundane.

Recent solo presentations include Double Feature (Julia Stoschek Foundation, Berlin, 2024); Transmundane Economies Chapter 3 (Fondazione Elpis, Milan, 2024); Transmundane Economies Chapter 2 (Bode Museum, Berlin, 2023); Rosa Mystica (Fondazione Elpis, Milan, 2023); Transmundane Economies (Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 2022); Drifting, Browsing, Cruising (ZKM, Karlsruhe, 2021); Post Impalpable Rites (Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, 2021); Molly House (The Bomb Factory, London, 2019); and Four Words on Desire (Korai Project Space, Nicosia, 2017).
